A)
Performance of a platinum-tin catalyst for converting propane to propylene, an important feedstock for the chemical industry. The black curve shows performance with cofeeding of hydrogen (H2/propane = 1) and without added H2, showing significant deactivation. The red curve shows the high selectivity of these catalysts for producing propylene; B) Performance of platinum-manganese catalyst for the same reaction showing that pure H2 could be used to regenerate the catalyst, if applied early in the reaction cycle.
